We built Library Collaboration: Add Contributors on the core belief that great instruction and effective IEP development thrive when educators, specialists, and service providers work together.
Our initial release delivered the ability for folder Owners to invite colleagues as Contributors, allowing teams to add Goals, Strategies, and Resources to a single, central student folder in real time. For a refresher on the foundational feature, you can read the original announcement here.
The initial release successfully transformed the Toolkit Library into a more shared space, and we are committed to building on that foundation. We are excited to announce two major updates that will further enhance collaboration and resource management for IEP teams.
1. Expanding Contributor Access: New Present Levels Wizard

We have prioritized enhancing the types of content contributors can add to shared folders. This update expands the contributor role to include critical student assessment information.
- What’s New: Contributors can now view and save completed Present Levels Wizard summaries directly into shared student folders. This expands the collaboration scope beyond Goals, Strategies, and Resources to include crucial baseline data.
- Workflow Enhancement: This feature simplifies the sharing of assessment summaries, ensuring the folder owner has immediate access to the contributor’s finalized Present Levels statements from the New and Improved Present Levels Wizard.
- Permission Note: Consistent with the initial release, summaries saved by contributors will be read-only for contributors in the shared folder, ensuring the folder owner retains control over the final editable documents. Contributors will still have the option to save a private, editable copy to a folder they own.
2. Seamless Transitions with Transfer Ownership
Effective collaboration requires clarity on ownership, especially when students move between case managers.
- What’s New: We are introducing Transfer Ownership, a new feature that allows a teacher (the current Owner) to easily transfer a student’s entire folder, including all saved documents and drafts, to a new case manager.
- Why It Matters: This feature addresses a critical use case for continuity. It ensures that when a student transitions to a new teacher, the entire repository of historical data and resources moves seamlessly with them, eliminating the need for manual sharing and preventing data loss.
These updates continue our mission of transforming the Library into a truly shared space where educators can build stronger IEPs, together.
